This Week In Digital Advertising Data (October 14th, 2022)

Let’s see what this week’s numbers say about online advertising, shall we?

  • The use of social media platforms is on the rise this year, according to a survey by the Pew Research Center. YouTube and Facebook (surprisingly!) stay on top, with Instagram following with half of the US adult population being on the app. 82% of US adults said to love YouTube, followed by Facebook with 70%. Keep this in mind for your business ;)
  • Another win for YouTube. Go through this very interesting study by Morning Consult on Gen Z’s preferred brands: YouTube is the most popular brand with Gen Z’s this year, with 86% fans. Next is Google, which almost 84% of Gen Z’s votes.  Netflix comes next with 82.2%. They sure seem to love video!
  • According to the latest study by eMarketer, 30% of advertisers are cutting their budgets in 2023. 74% said the economic downturn is influencing their 2023 budget decisions. 30% said their 2023 advertising budget will increase, 40% said they expect spending to stay the same, 75% of respondents said their budgets are under “heavy scrutiny”.
