Let’s see what this week’s numbers say about online advertising, shall we?

  • According to The HubSpot survey, the use of market research by media planners should grow significantly this year: 70% of respondents using said that conducting market research to find the most effective channel to reach target audiences is their most effective strategy. As for channel ROI, users of paid social content 57% are saying that it has the highest ROI.
  • On this Marketing Charts article collaboration and alignment are critical components of an agile marketing strategy, 43% of respondents have either fully adopted and are utilizing agile marketing methodologies (12%) or have adopted and utilize some of these methodologies (31%).
  • eMarketer’s forecast: Amazon will make up 77.7% of US ecommerce channel ad revenues this year, contributing $27.94 billion of the $35.96 billion total. Because of Amazon’s dominance, growth for the company means growth for the entire ecommerce channel ad market. Total US ecommerce channel ad spending will rise by 29.0% this year.
